About fees and payouts
- When is the fee taken?
- For online bookings, the fee on the booked services comes out of what the customer paid online (the deposit, or the whole booking when paid in full). Every other fee comes from your HairDrive wallet when you take payment at the Counter: walk-ins, pay after service, bookings you add, and services added at the Counter. Services added after the customer has paid pay the fee when the customer pays for them. If you mark a visit completed but don’t take payment in HairDrive within 24 hours, the fee on the booked price is taken from your wallet then, never twice.
- What if the price changes at the Counter?
- The fee is on whichever is higher: what you charge at the Counter, or what was booked. If you charge more or add services, the fee is on the higher amount. If you give a discount, the fee stays on the booked amount. The rate stays the booking’s own: 10%, or 5% for a walk-in. Never on the travel fee.
- Do I need money in my wallet?
- Yes, enough for the fee: a payment can’t be recorded until your wallet covers the HairDrive fee on it, so top up first. Keep at least Rs 1,000 to offer pay after service. Below that it pauses, and it turns back on by itself when a top-up brings you back to Rs 1,000, unless you switched it off. Recording a walk-in (from 22 October 2026) or adding a booking yourself (from 23 October 2026) also needs Rs 1,000 (not for Founding 100 during their free period). Anything you owe HairDrive, such as a Guarantee credit, counts against your wallet until it is paid. We warn you below Rs 1,500. The smallest top-up is Rs 200, and unused balance is refunded if you leave.
- What if I owe HairDrive?
- When a customer gets a HairDrive Guarantee credit (a late start or a late cancellation), it is charged to your business. It comes off the deposits HairDrive holds for you, your next payout or your next top-up, whichever comes first. If it is still unpaid after 14 days, new online bookings pause until you top up to clear it. Your bookings already made carry on.
- What about cancellations and no-shows?
- No fee on a booking you decline or a customer cancels in time. If a customer cancels late or does not show up, you keep their deposit, less the HairDrive fee. When the customer paid in full, you keep the deposit part, less the fee, and the rest is refunded to them.
- What does HairDrive cost?
- No monthly or sign-up fee. HairDrive takes 10% of the service price on bookings customers make on HairDrive and on bookings you add for a later time, and 5% on walk-ins. Never on the travel fee. The first 100 businesses pay 0% for 90 days from approval, or until 30 online bookings, one Founding place per person, payout account and location.
- How do I get paid?
- Customers pay the deposit online and the rest to you at the visit, or pay the whole booking online. Online payments are held by Digitec, the operator of HairDrive, and paid out every week, less the HairDrive fee and anything you owe, to your checked bank, JazzCash or Easypaisa account.
- What stops no-shows?
- Deposits, reminders, arrival codes and a reliability record: customers who miss bookings pay a higher deposit next time.
